Pablos in the Toon, Newcastle City Center

Whitley Bay was the start. Blandford Street was the sequel.

In December 2021 we opened our second shop right in the heart of Newcastle city centre. Technically it’s a little bit tucked away but it’s also bang in the middle of everything. That’s the magic of Blandford Street. You turn a corner and suddenly you’ve found bao heaven.

Blandford Street isn’t your polished shiny high street. It’s better than that. It’s got grit, character, and some absolute legends holding it down. Our neighbours include the Marlborough Social Club, House of Jallof, and Tipsy Cow. That mix alone tells you everything you need to know. There is nothing boring about this street.

On a normal day it’s a steady flow of city workers, students, and locals. But when the football’s on, Blandford Street turns into a conveyor belt of fans, mates, and chaos. And we’re here for it. Pre match bao, post match bao, victory bao, commiseration bao. Whatever the result, bao makes it better.

And then there’s Dan Burn. Yes, local legend and giant of a man Dan Burn has been known to frequent Pablo’s Blandford Street. If it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough for you.

79 Blandford St, NE1 3PZ.
